Thanks there’s a lot of great information here. In our area in Canada, Thursdays are definitely the best days to buy gas from a cost perspective.

Here in South Africa, petrol is cheaper along the coast than in land, it was interesting to read that the air con doesn’t really use up all that much but is best not to use it all the time but wisely. Another thing is that I had no idea that oversea they have certain days that gas is cheaper.

I always pump my gas @ Costco as I find they are the cheapest in the area. If you have their business american express Costco card, they will give you 3% cash back for the gas, and it doesn’t really limit to just Costco stations, you can also get 3% at other stations such as Chevron, Shell…etc
When the cashback check comes, you will see how much you would’ve saved.

Thanks for the great tips. I sometimes listen to the local radio station to see if a local gas station is having a special for the day. I once got gas for $.99 a gallon this way.

I’ve heard that you should buy gas in the morning because it is denser from the cool of the night and you actually get more. Makes sense to me.

These are great tips. I’ve always heard about the tire pressure and getting gas during cooler times, but didn’t realize the how whether it was just a ‘old’s wives tale’ or not. But I guess it’s all true. Love the post.
