They knew that the floor mats weren't a problem to begin with, yet people continued to buy their lies. I mean c'mon, is it really reasonable to think that the poor officer that was traveling down the highway with his family members in a speeding Lexus didn't think to check whether the floormat was pinning down the accelerator? That doesn't to go say that the vehicle was unstoppable (it is still unclear whether he tried to put it into neutral).
